SportBike West 2006 - Western Canada's Premier Sportbike Rally
   August 18th to August 20th 2006

  Guestbook

If you would like to add to this guestbook we are keeping, here is where to go!

What a rush. It was worth the trip out through all the rain if only to ride up and down that mountain dropping into Osoyoos. We spent all Saturday riding up and down that fucker. Over the weekend, my friends and I were pulled over three times and got off with warnings every damn time. The hardest part will be getting the horseshoes OUT of our asses.

Owen...on behalf of the Mad Foresters MC, thanks again to you, Mike G. and the rest of the SBW crew for putting on a major good time. We'll book earlier next year so we can be part of "party central" at the Southwind, and not have to miss any of the fun. We still miss the campfire at 8Mile, but not the dust!
Special hello to old friends reacquainted, and new friends too, especially Pam and Al from Langley. You guys can party with us anytime!
CU in 05 for the 10th annual!!! Can't wait.....

This has been my third time to the 8 mile ranch and hopefully may more to come. I was a little dismayed this year as the fellows running the dyno didn't put on near as good a show as previous years when the Kawaski rep/rider by the name of Oliver did his magic in the main area of the ranch where all the night time festivites seemed to converge in previous years.(as opposed to the individual campsites) Perhaps next year the dyno could be set up in the old location in the main area of the ranch where everyone could enjoy the show. As well next year the catering services should sell various spirits as in years past.
In closing I to would like to send you and the owners of the 8 mile ranch a sincere apology for some of the hoolaganism that occured on Saturday night.

An open note to Owen, the owners of 8 Mile Ranch, and other SBW campers:
On behalf of a couple of guys in our campsite (up on the hill to the right as you come down the hill) who don't know an apology from an allen key, AND who have not yet mastered the combination of alcohol and testosterone, A BIG SORRY for the noise of bikes bouncing off the rev limiter, and especially for any dust created by the "dust-outs" (SBW version of burn-outs)......if it's any consolation, the bikes and tents of those of us camping up there got the worst of it.

First time at the rally, was very kewl seeing
the 400 plus bikes there. And all those door prizes too were awesome,
not cheap or tacky garbage either, unless you call helmets, tires, jackets
etc cheap. I didn't win any but I wasn't there for the prizes anyway.
I'm definately com'n back, it'd be stupid to miss this, great job putting
it on. Kudos to you Owen. Way to go!!!

at work, I feel withdrawl from the weekend. I wanted to say thanks to
Owen and all the vollenteers for the great weekend. Also Mike (I think)
who led #2 ride and stayed behind in Oliver to help me get back on the
road when my shifter broke.
All in all, a great time and looking forward to next year.

Great times Owen!! Got us hooked last year so
we're back again this year. I read something somewhere about gettin' a
1/4mile location to excercise rev limiters... Any news? I hear there may
be a quick 'Busa coming that wants some excercise. We all know that no
cops is good cops, and ya can't get tagged on the strip! Come on! Lets
get black top!!! Lookin' forward to the weekends festivities. Are all
of the group rides leaving early so that I'm forced to choose between
that and the Triumph demo's? I hope its not just a bunch of Bonnie's...
Thanks again.

Looking forward to the ride, my partners in crime say it's more of a race than a rally.
I can't promise to keep the speed down, but I'll try to keep both wheels planted while in the
public eye ( but it's a TL! ).
Tell the safety Nazi's to suck a cock, we pay taxes, drive cars, moe lawns at 8am just like
every other asshole.
I dont bitch about Grandpa driving home drunk after nine holes, so the them to look in the
mirror before they throw acusations at any biker,
be it an old fart on a Gold Wing or Squid on a scooter going 20 km/h over the limit.
