Guestbook If you would like to add to this guestbook we are keeping, here is where to go! Hi Owen and the guys and galls at SBW. Just looked at your complete web site including waiting to download all the pictures. Sounds like a blast, sign me up. I just bought my sons bike from him. Had to sell my harley (20 yr. old houses, everything goes at once) well his bike was the only thing I could afford and any bike is better than none. Then a funny thing happened, I'am having a great time on it(scarey but fun) When I pull up with the Pascal Picotte helmet on and friends realize who it is they sh-t. Anyway I'll make you feel young; and I'll call in the morning with my VISA # Ross Brown Comox BC - Ross Ride: 1996 Honda 900 CBR Posted: May 26, 2000 Sport Bike West is the ultimate $%*&ing experience. I coming up this year. If this is Owen, I met you at campbell river MOXIES restaurant with t karate club. Something is wrong with the slide shows. Am now chompin' at the bit!! - Strega Ride: 99 Interceptor Posted: May 9, 2000 Banana Bike Man: SBW98 was as much fun as you can have with your leathers on. SBW99 was great, too - maybe a bit over the top with reckless boy-racer wannabees (glad to see you trying some self policing). Unfortunately, my work schedule conflicts with SBW00 (maybe it is time for a new job). Keep up the good work. If you get to Calgary, look me up. - Frank Ride: ZRX1100, Hawk Attended: 98,99 Posted: May 9, 2000 I had a blast in '98. I wanted to go in '99 but I was unemployed and interviewing for jobs. I'd come this year, but I'm getting married, so $ and vacation time are scarce. But I've definitely got SBW on my calendar for 2001. I had so much fun the first time that I've gotta come back for more...and I'm living in the San Francisco Bay Area now. It'll be one hell of a trip, but it'll be worth it. Thanks again, Owen. - Sean aka Corky Ride: 96 yzf600 Attended: 98 Posted: April 28, 2000 AWESOME!!! Great roads, great route, and great people to BS with around the fire! Thanks again Owen! http://members.tripod.com/~missbehave - Wendy Ride: 1996 ZX-6R Attended: 98 Posted: March 22, 2000 Awsome weekend. Already have that weekend booked off. - ghostrider Ride: '92 Yamaha Seca II Attended: 97,98,99 Posted: March 19, 2000 Hi, Owen!! Sorry I didn't catch you at the Bike Show (my dad drag me away after just two hours). Anyway, I've seen updates on SBW site - lookin great!! I just wanna add something to the letters: Although I've been to SBW only in '98 (spent '99 in ICU of Vancouver General) I think this is the best bike gathering BC has to offer. I had a blast there my first time (read about it at http://www.geocities.com/badgirl_8p/onroad.html) and I was really really looking forward to go there last summer... I even bought a new tent and a bigger sleeping bag!!! Life sucks!!! Oh, yeah! I just wanna say "HI" to that 100 people from SBW who signed a postcard for me and to the rest of them I wanna say that I'm gonna come to SBW00 and kick their ass for forgeting all about me!!! - Bad Girl Posted: March 9, 2000 GREETINGS hooligans, Flash here. If you have never gone to SBW, go. It is simply the best time you will have. We look forward to seeing you this year Owen and you have a great thing going up there! I've had the privilege of riding 8 out of the 10 best roads in California, and I've enjoyed my share of hot laps at race tracks here, there and everywhere. For all the kilometers clicked and tires torn up, Sportbike West '99 was the most fun I've ever had on 2 wheels. It can sometimes be a challenge to find people to ride "with" but the sheer variety of bikes and rider abilities at SBW meant one long weekend of nose-to-tail action. Exhilarating! Unprecedented! Would I miss another? Not in my 2-wheeled world! I'll catch up with ya'll in the corners, come August - Tamarski Ride: Honda SJR 600 F3 Attended: 99 Posted: March 1, 2000 Sportbike West is for people who love talking about, thinking about, looking at, and riding motorcycles! It was 36 hours of pure fun. The BBQ was excellent, the people were friendly and the whole event was very well organized. I'm looking forward to riding with all these people again in August 2000. Until then.......... VROOM MEMBER - Deanna Battle :) Ride: CBR600 Attended: 99 Posted: February 29, 2000 I first heard about two years ago, missed it last, no money and a broke down ZX 11. Too many wheelies took their toll on my fork seal, too many burnout...no rubber! Not this year, just got a 99 ZX9R and new D207's sitting in the garage. I've had the bike on the road since January 14/2000, ridden it every day rain, shine or snow!! We're talking hardcore, not many bikers to wave to in the spring, too many fair weather pussies around here. My possie from Victoria went last year and said it was awesome, so I'll see you in five months.Later...G - Glenn aka Stubby Ride: Kawi's finest 99ZX9R Posted: February 29, 2000 I just wanted to let you know how much fun we had last year. It seems you Canadians really put on one hell of a party/rally. It was cool to see three Bandit 1200s there last year. If you have any friends that would like to come to Oregon and ride during the summer, just drop us an e-mail. I would be happy to open our house to people who needed a place to crash at night. Oregon has some gorgeous sites as does Washington. I just wanted to let you know how much we look forward to this every year now. Thanks - Dave and Kim Posted: February 28, 2000 The update web page looks great Owen (how the hell does Pete end up in so many pics?) See you in Calgary May 5/6 for the race school. Cheerz - shamus Ride: VTR Attended: 99,00,01 Just Do It!!!!! - flyboy Ride: 90 zx-7r Attended: 98,99,00,01 Came all the way from Regina Sask. Had the best time of my short life on the ride there through the mountains by kokanee lake and at the rally. I will be there next year for sure and every year after that it is held. Thanks for the good times. - Andrew Ride: CBR929RR Attended: 01 best organized event i have ever attended. great people, lot's of bikes & some really bitchin roads! guaranty i'll be their 2002, this time with good tread & not solo!!! - HUSTON Ride: 99 TLR(OLD YELLA) Attended: 01 I came from Edmonton with a group of Buell riders. We had a great time and the food was great. I was somewhat disappointed by the behavior of a few squids who couldn't stop themselves from buzzing up and down the road leading to the ranch, doing wheelies etc. It was obvious by the number of bikes that were pitched away that some of these riders were under the influence. I gues this is to be expected at an event like this. All in all though, we had a great time and will probably be back next year! - john Ride: 2000 buell cyclone m2 Attended: 01 Had a blast, everyone was super, the rides fantastic, the prizes incredible. I unbelieveably won the grand prize leather suit which fits perfectly. Thanks Owen and all of the sponsors of SBW too. See you next year. Marky Reed - Marky Ride: ZX9R Attended: 01 What an awesome function! The hospitality was great, the food was tasty, and the ride was amazing!!! Met some great people (Jason, Darren, Pat, Wayne, and various others from all over) and look forward to seeing them there next year. It is truly astounding to see all those incredible machines gathered in one spot. FNA. A huge thanks to Owen, all SBW staff, and all sponsers for putting this wonderful event together. Thankyou to Argyl Motorsports for the Bieffe Race Stand that I was fortunate to win during the prize draws. My wife and I are there for 2002! - Bob Daudelin Ride: 00 ZX9R Attended: 01 loved it but it was over all too soon but looking forward to 2002.Only downer was two of my buddies went down but they will be back with new bikes. - John Geismak Ride: Gsxr1300 Attended: 01 Had great fun in 2001 looking forward to 2002.Would be great if you guys rented 1/8 mile track up the way for bike drags. - John G. Ride: 2000 Hayabusa Attended: 01 2% attrition of riders seems pretty typical again. Loved it though. I appreciate the work Owen puts into the event. I liked having both my track bikes there on display: the REPSOL replica CBR600F2 and the Blue ZX-6R 1999. I enjoyed putting my 1998 ZX-9R into the mix on the roads and curves. Owen did you ride at the Mission track? I saw that you were entred but I never saw you. I look forword to next year. Did I see Salvana watching the toy run along Hastings? It looked like her. - Dave Buratenski Ride: Blue 1998 ZX9-R Attended: 98,99,01 Click here for the next page |
